The West Mill

I cannot tell you how happy I am to finally be writing a blog post for The West Mill. I am quite literally smiling as I’m writing these words.

Since I launched Monkeymole Photography, The West Mill has always been one of the venues I’ve wanted to focus on. It’s on my doorstep, it’s gorgeous, and I’ve always believed my style is really well suited to it.

However, luck just hasn’t been on my side. So many enquiries came through where I was already booked, or Covid rescheduled bookings just clashed with my diary.

Finally, along came Jess + Gavin to break my duck, and boy what a way to pop my venue cherry! From Jess’ initial enquiry, I could instantly tell the pair of them were my type of couple; a key requirement was to really enjoy the celebration with their guests, and they wanted the photography to compliment that, not get in the way of it.

The day itself was the stuff of dreams; the most chilled bride & groom prep you could possibly ask for, a wonderfully inclusive celebration of faith, aching faces from laughter during the speech, and a dance floor that simply did not stop. Add into that the most gorgeous of golden hours to round the day off, and I’d like to think both Jess + Gavin would say they couldn’t have asked for more from their day.

If there was every a gallery where I can say “I’ll let the pictures do the talking”, this one is surely a front runner. Strap in and treat your eyes to a celebration of faith, love, and one hell of a party.
