The Art of Confetti

“So confetti isn’t just ‘confetti’ anymore?” How times have changed!

It’s probably right up there on the list of things you didn’t expect to be thinking about when planning your wedding, but your confetti choice isn’t just a choice of ‘pink or white’ anymore. I’ve detailed out a few of the options to consider, and I’m looking forward to updating this post in 2025 when ‘laser confetti shows’ probably become a thing.

As a final note; it’s now expected that you’ll supply confetti for your guests (only your antiqued guests will likely bring their own now).

Bubbles

Bubbles can look brilliant, but there is a pretty hefty caveat to that. To really pull them off, a pot of bubbles just isn’t going to cut the mustard.

I’ve had really good success by having two groomsmen flanking the guests with “Super Bubblemaster 5000” type machines, which chuck out loads of decent sized bubbles.

Link to ones I’ve previously used here.

Fresh Petals

Always a firm favourite from an aesthetics perspective, and they do tend to look really nice.

The one thing to remember with fresh petals is they fall from the sky faster than a dead pigeon, so there won’t be lots of them visible on photographs as you take your walk.

If you’re hoping for the ‘caught in a confetti storm’ look, it may be worth looking at other options.

Dried Petals

Probably the most popular option, and for good reason; they bring added florals to your day, whilst also giving a good amount of coverage.

Do have a think on size of petals though; if they’re on the larger size your guests will need a properly good handful of them, and on the smaller side it’ll look like they’re throwing rabbit feed on you.

Paper

The one to choose if you want an ‘all out confetti attack’.

Companies like your confetti are able to offer paper confetti in a variety of shapes and colours, so you can get things bang on point for your theme.

They are also fully biodegradable, so whilst some venues may need convincing (thanks to old school paper confetti), they should be fine.
